Volkswagen California camper van gets special edition

In Dusseldorf, Germany next month, Volkswagen will introduce a new special edition of the California camper van at the Caravan Salon. This new version will feature retractable canvas top similar to what we’ve seen on the Multivan Edition25. There are several aesthetic changes as well, including the matte black look for the lower part of the front bumper, doors, door handles, grille, as well as on the roof.

In addition, it comes with new alloy wheels and black headlamp bezels, while inside the spacious cabin the furniture for the sink, stove and the storage space has a white finish. A novelty for this model would have to be the sleeping pad.

The vehicle is scheduled to go on sale later on this fall in Europe when it will be available in two trim levels: Comfortline and Beach. Clients will be able to choose from one of the two gasoline engines that output 148 hp and 201 hp, as well as three diesels that produce 101 hp, 138 hp and 177 hp.

The California Beach Edition will be available starting with 42,369.95 Euro in Germany, while the Comfortline Edition has a base price of 56,287 Euro.
