One of the most beautiful cars on sale today is the exquisite Jaguar XJ which has received a mild update from the British carmaker for the upcoming new model year. The most significant change can be found under the hood where Jaguar has decided to ditch the old 380 hp V8 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated engine in favor of a new V6 3.0-liter gasoline unit that is capable of producing 335 hp and a peak torque of 332 lb.-ft. This power unit will also be used for the all-new F-type.
With this new engine, the 2013 Jaguar XJ is capable of doing the 0-62 mph sprint in just 5.7 seconds and it can return 30 mpg UK on the combined cycle, with CO2 emissions of 224 g/km. This power unit is linked to an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox, a novelty for the XJ lineup. This transmission is also offered as standard for the other engines that can power the XJ, a V6 3.0-liter turbodiesel and the V8 5.0-liter supercharged gasoline unit.
As standard, all of the versions of the Jaguar XJ now feature the stop/start system which helps the diesel engine-powered XJ to achieve a 47 mpg UK fuel economy and have CO2 emissions of 159 g/km. Clients are now able to opt for a new comfort suspension pack for all the variants of the XJ. Also offered as standard is an updated audio system and DAB digital radio.
The 2013 Jaguar XJ is scheduled to hit the market this September with prices starting from 56,260 pounds for the base diesel model, while the version with the new V6 engine will set you back at least 65,365 pounds.
