Flagship Kia Sportage KX-4 Announced

Kia has introduced for the UK market a new flagship Sportage model which is wearing the KX-4 moniker. The prices for this high-end version start from 27,195 pounds and you get a revised version of the 2.0-liter CRDi turbodiesel engine which now develops 181 hp, as opposed to the previous output of 134 hp.

As a consequence, the Korean SUV can now do the 0-62 mph sprint in 9.4 seconds and can hit a maximum speed of 120 mph with the 6-speed manual transmission, while returning 46.3 mpg UK. This new version of the Sportage has CO2 emissions of 158 g/km. The model fitted with the automatic transmission is quicker as it can reach a top speed of 121 mph, but at the expense of a lower 39.2 mpg UK rating and CO2 emissions of 189 g/km.

The Kia Sportage KX-4 comes as standard with keyless entry, front & rear parking sensors, full leather upholstery, engine start button, privacy glass, xenon lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, satellite navigation system with a 7-inch touchscreen display, climate control, cruise control, panoramic sunroof, seven-speaker audio system and heated seats.

This version of the Sportage can only be purchased in a 4WD configuration, and the manual version starts from 27,195 pounds, while the model equipped with an automatic transmission will have a base price of 28,500 pounds. The cheapest Sportage money can buy in UK is the 2WD 1.6-liter GDi 1 which will set you back only 17,300 pounds. This new high-end version of the Sportage is already on sale in the United Kingdom.
